[Call for submission] VISUALIZING SUSTECH GLOBAL
10/12/2020
In 2020, SUSTech celebrates the 10th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the Office of SUSTech Global plans to launch a thematic photo and video exhibition titled “Visualizing SUSTech Global”, a dynamic presentation of SUSTech’s 10-year-long international journey and presence. To facilitate this, all faculty members and students, together with alumni and former colleagues, are hereby invited to contribute to the exhibition, including photos and videos attached with personal stories or historic memories. The invaluable snapshots will display an immersive storyline, projecting a narrative of how SUSTech evolves with its international positioning and how the SUSTech community stays engaged globally, creates the future and pays back to the society.
The collected documents will be reviewed by a dedicated committee and polled online. An individual or a unit can submit a collection of no more than 5 pieces of photos or video clips, attached with 50-300 words of account to each collection.
All participants will earn a token of the Thematic Exhibition. All the submissions will be preserved with credited author by the Office of SUSTech Global and displayed on its webpage; some of them will be collected with credited author by the University Archive; selective collections will be displayed on the Exhibition (online & offline) in November and December. 32 winners will be singled out across four groups of awards, including Timelessness Award, Creativity Award, Photography Award, Popularity Award, and receive prizes.
Tips for inspiring your collections (Just for reference):
Did you happen to take a picture or a video clip at some point, which at the hindsight could tell your story in the journey of SUSTech’s international development?
When you were working or studying at SUSTech, did you participate in any international exchange activity (or work for them), for instance, studying abroad, international competitions, projects and seminars? Did you keep relevant photos or videos?
A moment of inspiration to your study, career or even your whole life, for instance, an English class, a language exam, a dialogue with a foreign friend, or an all-nighter for a project?
As a witness for SUSTech, what do you think represents its international development?
Try to go back to the old gallery on your computer or cellphone (or maybe the old ones), and see if there are some interesting memories that relate to the theme SUSTech Global.
Please attach a written account of 50-300 words to your collection.
