On November 20, 25 foreign envoys to China and representatives of international organizations visited Southern University of Science and Technology. They were accompanied by Special Representative of the Chinese government for Middle East Affairs Jun ZHAI, Deputy Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Anrong LI, and Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Jiajun ZHONG. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO, members of Presidential Executive Council, and Director of SUSTech Global Chunmiao ZHENG met them in the library.

ZHENG introduced the major scientific research platform, academic achievements, and talent training mode of SUSTech. He said that as a window for Shenzhen’s foreign exchanges, SUSTech has been carrying out exchanges and cooperation with universities and institutions around the world to cultivate talents with a global vision. It is willing to further integrate into the international innovation system, develop a close and friendly cooperative partnership with institutions of various countries, promote the integration of civilizations, and improve human well-being.   

The delegation includes embassy officials from North Korea, Syria, Algeria, Namibia, Tanzania, Senegal, Nigeria, Gabon, Luxembourg, Ecuador, Mozambique, Peru, Dominica, Bangladesh, Jordan, Sudan, Moldova, Oman, South Africa, Salvadoran, Russia, and the deputy representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in China and director of the Asia Pacific Regional Office of ICAO. 

The delegation expressed their appreciation for the development of the University and its vitality and academic atmosphere. They hoped that the visit would further enhance understanding, promote exchanges, and encourage university teachers and students from their countries to study here.

This year marks the 40^th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. To understand the achievements and experience of Shenzhen, the diplomatic mission made a special visit to Shenzhen. SUSTech, as an innovative university with a high starting point and high positioning, is an important stop on their journey.
