SUSTech cracks top 50 best young universities by THE

On 24 June, Times Higher Education (THE) released its THE Young University Rankings with Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), maintaining its position as the best young university in mainland China. It also entered the top fifty young universities in the world, ranking equal 47th in the world up from 55th. It is the first time that SUSTech has entered the top 50 of this ranking.

 

 

2020 marks the ninth year that THE has held its Young University Rankings, which lists universities that are 50 years old or younger. It is the second time that SUSTech has been ranked in the Young University Rankings, which includes 414 universities from 66 countries and territories. SUSTech topped the charts for all five indicators in mainland China. Of particular note is our growth in industry income, which has seen an 88% increase compared to last year.

 

The Young University Rankings methodology is based on five performance indicators,  teaching (30%), research (30%), citations (30%), international outlook (7.5%), and industry income (2.5%).
