Prof. Wei Hong extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced SUSTech's distinctive initiatives in educational development and the cultivation of globally competent talents. Drawing from his own professional and academic experiences, he shared insights into Shenzhen's inclusive, open, and innovation-driven culture. He noted that as a new research university founded on this city of innovation, SUSTech has become one of China's youngest "Double First-Class" universities in just over a decade since its establishment. The university has consistently prioritized internationalization as a core strategy, building a comprehensive, multi-tiered system for global exchange and collaboration through its integration into the "Double First-Class" initiative. He expressed hope that this visit would strengthen ties between SUSTech and its international partners and encouraged the American students to gain inspiration and forge friendships through cross-cultural communication in Shenzhen, the "City of Innovation".

During the symposium, Prof. Limin Zhou from the School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing and Prof. Boyu Zhou from the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering delivered lectures on "Synchronous Cultivation Mode of Knowledge and Abilities in Engineering Education" and "Autonomous Mobile Robots for Unknown and Complex Environments", respectively. The American students also interacted enthusiastically with SUSTech student representatives, discussing topics such as technological innovation and Shenzhen's urban development in a lively atmosphere. The delegation was guided on a campus tour to the university's exhibition hall and the Institute of Robotics Research, gaining insights into the campus environment, international student admissions, and latest research advancements. Dr. Hao Chen, Executive Deputy Director of SUSTech Global, also participated in the discussion.

This visit provided a great platform for international youth dialogue, allowing the US students to gain an in-depth understanding of SUSTech's innovative practices in integrating science and education while experiencing the unique appeal of Shenzhen. Ialso offered SUSTech students a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from outstanding peers from world-renowned institutions.
