On November 29th, a delegation from The Executive Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Chambers, headed by Mr. Abdulla Al Remaithi, Director of Dubai Council Secretariat Department of The Executive Office, visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).  Prof. Bi Zhang, Associate Dean for Academics of the College of Engineering; Prof. Zhaoyuan Ma, School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing & College of Business; Dr. Hao Chen, Executive Deputy Director of SUSTech Global and other representatives of related departments held discussions with the guests.

Prof. Bi Zhang warmly welcomed Director Abdulla Al Remaithi’s visit and provided an overview of SUSTech’s current development. He expressed his hope that both sides can engage in substantial cooperation within their respective areas of expertise, thereby jointly advancing the frontiers of scientific and technological progress.

Mr. Abdulla Al Remaithi highly praised SUSTech's recent accomplishments. He mentioned that universities and regional development are concurrently dependent on each other. Shenzhen, a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, has abundant resources to nurture the growth of regional institutions. He also expressed his delegation's interest in collaborating with SUSTech in critical areas, including technology transfer, joint research initiatives, and student exchange programs.

Dr. Hao Chen introduced SUSTech's development stages, education and research, global partnership, and strategic goals. He said that SUSTech has always been committed to promoting the internationalization of education and scientific research and will continuously enhance the international impact of the university through cooperation with internationally renowned universities. 

Director Abdulla Al Remaithi and his delegation were warmly guided on a campus tour, visiting the Institute of Robotics and Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center.
