On November 20th, Professor Rhonda Lenton, President of York University, and her delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Chairperson Hong Jiang, and other representatives held discussions with the guests.

During the meeting, Chairperson Hong Jiang warmly welcomed President Rhonda Lenton's visit and provided an overview of SUSTech's recent developments. She reviewed the history of cooperation between SUSTech and York University and expressed her enthusiasm for future collaboration between the two universities to enhance mutual understanding, broaden areas of exchange, and deepen the partnership. Chairperson Hong Jiang emphasized the importance of leveraging the strengths of both universities to forster student exchanges, joint degree programs, and jointly cultivate innovative, globally-minded talents.

President Rhonda Langton expressed her gratitude for the warm reception of SUSTech and briefly introduced the key information and recent developments at York University. She highlighted York University’s reputation as a leading Canadian comprehensive university with strengths in business and interdisciplinary studies. President Langton emphasized the importance of the partnership with SUSTech and expressed her eagerness to deepen the cooperation, building on the existing joint degree program and achieving more substantial outcomes in joint research, short-term student exchanges, student internships, and other areas.
