Kent State University
Kent State University is one of the century-old famous universities firstly approved and recognized and recommended by Chinese Education Department, ranking in the 194th in the universities of the United States reported by US News and World Report (2015). Founded in 1910, the university consists of eight campuses and has about 35000 students, in which there are more than 900 Chinese overseas students. Kent State University is one of the largest local education systems in the United States and its scale ranks in top three in Ohio. The university provides more than 270 undergraduate courses, 55 courses for master's degree and 22 courses for doctor's degree. According to “3+2” Dual Degree Cooperation Project Agreement, SUSTC students are entitled to apply for the DBMD program provided by SUSTC and Kent State. Those enrolled will study undergraduate courses in SUSTC for 3 years and then undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Kent State for another 2 years before being granted a SUSTC bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree of Kent State.

SUSTC students must buy relevant medical insurance and provide the certificate during their study in Kent State as required
|9. Submission of application materials||1. Formal school report (complete studies equivalent to 90 hours) in a sealed and signed envelop to International Education Office (IEO) of Kent State.
2. GPA 3.3 or above (4.0 system).
3. Fill the online graduate application form (pay the fees).
4. 3 recommendation letters from professors of the related major.
5. Personal background and goal statement (in English).
6. GRE score (general and subject test-physics or chemistry) is not a must, but can serve as a vital reference element.
7. TOEFL no less than 525 (TOEFL iBT 71), MELAB 77 or above, IELTS 6.0 and PTE 48.
